Happy Birthday Kate!

Happy Birthday to my sweet baby Kate! Today is my baby girls 3rd Birthday! My, how time flies. It makes me sad that my baby is that old already. She is all girl and I have really been enjoying that. She is all about giving loves and hugs and is so motherly with all her beloved stuffed animals. There is just something undeniably sweet and precious about little girls, and I am so blessed to have her.

We had her birthday party on Monday. It was a ton of fun. Kate got great gifts, all of which she is enjoying, a barbie tricycle, a couple new Barbies, some adorable stuffed animals, princess memory, her own princess mirror and a princess sofa. She is way into Princesses right now and really only wanted a princess dress. Needless to say of course she got one.( my mom bought her one before she had even said that was what she wanted, "Way to go Grandma!") I took Nicklas shopping to pick his own gift for Kate and he carefully picked a Tiara with some beautiful jewelry to go with her princess dress. Since Monday evening Kate has been wearing her princess dress along with her Tiara and jewelry pretty much all the time, I pry it off for nap and meals. She is in heaven and loves me calling her Princess Kate.

A Pink Lila

Kate's birthday is coming up and she had requested a pink "Lila". For any of you that are newer to my blog you may ask yourself, "Who is Lila". Lila is an adorable little lamb that Kate received on her first birthday from a good friend of mine. Lila is Kate's so called "blankie". She must always have her Lila when she takes a nap, goes to bed or any other time she thinks. She pretty much wants to take Lila anywhere we go.
About two weeks ago I asked Kate what she wanted for her birthday. She said a princess dress and a pink Lila and boy has she stuck to it. I looked up Lila online where she was purchased from to see if she came in pink, she did not. So my mom convinced Kate that we could dye Lila pink for her. My mother in law came to town on Wednesday and she instructed me in the ways of dyeing objects. So needless to say Kate now has her pink Lila and she is very happy about it and is always saying how beautiful Lila is pink. She is all girl and as you can see by the photo above loves to look as girly as possible (she is holding her dear Lila).

Go Utes!!

Today I took Alex and his friend Porter to the Parade for the University of Utah Utes Football Team. For any of you out there that may not follow sports, the Utes went 13-0 for a perfect season and played outstanding against a highly favored Alabama to beat them. It was so much fun to go downtown and see all the support for the team. It was an awesome season and fun for all the fans to be able to help celebrate it. Even though they couldn't see anything, we even went over to the City and County Building to hear Coach Whittingham, Mayor Becker, Governor Huntsman, team captains- Louie Sakota and Brian Johnson, and our Congressman Matheson speak.
Of course if you ask the boys, the highlight had to be getting Matt Asiata's signature on their hats and a piece of paper. They also got to high five quite a few players during the parade. It was a fun experience that won this mom some huge kudos with her eight year old.

Priceless!!!

I thought I should make a list of the many things my children do that remind me why I love being a mom! I am blessed every day to have them do the sweetest and cutest things ever!

1. Kate holding my face in her hands and saying, "Mommy, you are beautiful!"

2. Nicklas drawing me picture after picture which continually fill my scrapbook room. He is a wonderful little artist and I love all the beautiful pictures he gives me.

3. Alex and I sharing an all knowing look together when Kate does something extremely cute.

4. Anytime my kids miss me. Being a stay at home mom this does not happen nearly enough- but when it does it melts my heart.

5. Kate when she says "Mommy?"
I say, "What?"
Kate says, "I love you!"
To which I must say, "I love you too!"
This sometimes happens close to 50 times a day.. She will say it constantly in the car and
I love it!

6. Nicklas when he comes up and hugs my leg and says, "I just wanted to hug you!" This happens a lot also - sometimes a dozen times in one day. Just another great benefit of being a mom.

7. Alex when he plays with Nick or Kate. This really doesn't happen a lot because Alex is way more about his friends than his family currently, but when it does it is very precious to watch. He will try to help them and teach them stuff and it is fabulous.

Pure Exhaustion!!!

This is Kate totally conked out in the middle of the family room floor. Her brothers were being loud and running around her. Her dad and I were making dinner and there Kate fell asleep. Lets just call it Holiday Exhaustion!!!

Yeah... A Sled!!

The boys got sleds from Santa and couldn't wait to try them out .. Day after Christmas the boys constructed a small hill in the front yard to sled down. It was not enough for Alex so he managed to get his dad to give him a push on the slick sidewalk. Even Kate got out there and slid down the hill with her body. She could barely walk through the snow to get to the small hill. It was cute.

Weeks Family Christmas Gathering

Christmas Day we went to my parents house for a couple hours to visit and eat. It was very fun and relaxing. Bryan was glad to have a few hours off of building Lego's for Nicklas!!

Roberts Christmas Eve Party

Thought I would post a picture of the Roberts Family Party. My sister in-law decided it would be fun to have an ugly sweater party. We all were instructed to wear an ugly sweater... Boy was that fun... Talk about feeling attractive. Anyway.. The kids and I picked out some real doozies at the D.I. Bryan borrowed one. Our family put the best effort into it by far. Bryan actually won the prize for the ugliest sweater- a box of truffles. We gave my dad half the box for loaning us the sweater in the first place. ( yes.. My dad willingly picked a sweater of his for Bryan to borrow for the ugly sweater contest- My dad is awesome.)
Other than the sweater contest, we ate a wonderful Christmas meal and played some fun games. We also had the joy of a visit from Santa with a Christmas Eve gift. All in all it was a great time.
