Girls Weekend..

I can't not mention my wonderful 24 hour retreat last weekend with the girls. Just to clarify who the girls are for others- Marianne, Ronda, Michele, Jana and Ashley. We went and stayed at Marianne's condo up by the Jordanelle Reservoir and had a great time. We went to a fun little cafe' in Heber called the Spin Cafe' and it was delicious. Then we got some gelato and went back to the condo for treats and a movie. Marianne brought "Dan in Real Life" and if you haven't seen it, you must ( it is sweet, cute and funny all in one). We then stayed up late chatting like only girls can and then woke up to have a fabulous pancake breakfast prepared by Michele. We got back home around noon and then Michele and I went shopping.

Girlfriend weekends are the best. Not only to they give me something to look forward to, they are a wonderful little break from being a mom. Plus, all you girls out there know that there is nothing better than talking with the girls. I love my hubby but he is not a talker and sometimes a girl just needs someone to really talk to ( like for several hours, Ha-ha!). So thanks to the girls for the wonderful time and for being such a fun group of friends. Can't wait for our next adventure!!

Relaxing Sundays

Today was a fabulous Sunday and here is why:

1. I didn't have to give the Miamaid lesson because it was the fifth Sunday. (although I did miss seeing my adorable girls and hearing all their funny stories from the week.)

2. We went over to Bryan's sisters house for a couple of hours and just hung out.

3. We had cereal for dinner. ( lame I know, but hey easy to make and easy to clean up- more relaxation time for me!!)

4. We went on a very pleasant family walk. We use to do this very often but as our kids have gotten older they tend to protest much more about it. - Tonight they didn't complain once!

5. It is the day of the week I get to spend the most quality time with my family and the least amount of time doing all the household chores I so dislike.

I love Sundays!!!

Baseball

It has been a long cold baseball season but Alex just had his final game last Tuesday, June 10th. (And can you believe it was in the 50's and my mother and I were huddled together with several jackets and blankets.) This year was a big adjustment for me in the fact that Alex started AA baseball in which the kids do the pitching. We witnessed many a kids hit by the ball, many upset when they struck out without ever swinging and some great plays by some 7 to 9 year old kids. Sadly, Alex's team I believe only won 2 games, with a handful of close ones. They had fun though and they improved immensely from the beginning of the season to the end. He had a great coach that was never over the top and really wanted the kids to have fun playing. As a mom I was extremely grateful for that. Alex had some wonderful plays. When he is on base he is always alert so he can try to steal a base at every chance. Of course I love to watch him because he looks so cute and serious when he plays. Here are a few pics from the season. Go Alex!!!

Cat in the Hat

I just came across these photos the other day and thought I have to put these on my blog. Nicklas made this hat at preschool and we enjoyed a lot of laughs with it for a few days after. It was in March or April - I think. The kids thought it was hilarious and they looked adorable.

Pigtails

Kate's cousins put pigtails in her hair last week at a memorial day b-b-q and so now she asks me every day to put it up in pigtails. It is absolutely adorable - had to share! It actually makes her look like she had a lot more hair than she does. They rarely last the entire day but they are SO... cute.

T- Ball

Nick is so cute at his T-Ball games.. He is really enjoying it. He now chases the ball when it is hit and he can throw the ball quite well. This last game he finally decided to just have his coach pitch the ball to him and he hit it very well. Here are a few pics from his game on Saturday. What a cutie!!
