Alex got his first hit in kid pitch baseball!! Hooray!! Alex has been happy to not swing at the majority of ball pitched to him in hopes of getting walked, (better than striking out to a seven year old). Last week he asked his dad to buy him a batting helmet, his dad quickly replied that he would be happy to buy him one once he got a hit. At that Alex sadly said "ok, that might take all season".
Alex decided he would have to swing more to get a hit. So at Mondays game he decided to watch for a good pitch and swing at it. His first at bat he swung once and hit a foul and then swung a second time for his final strike. Second up to bat he got one foul hit and then hit a beautiful one straight toward second base. We all cheered so loud - it was great. When grandma went to the dugout to congratulate him he said to her " I can't believe I hit it". If that isn't priceless I don't know what is.
